“ My husband took me here for their valentine day special & it was so special. The staff is very attentive and personable. Food was superb as was the ambiance! What an Atlanta staple. If you are thinking of going- do it. It's a bit pricey but I truly feel like it's worth saving for. Enjoy! ”
“ Love the ambiance. Love the turning view. Best place for a date night. However, we didn't enjoy the food as much. Server recommended trout to us and the table next to us, but trout was the worst of the 4 dishes we ordered that day. ”
“ The ambiance is superb with an amazing rotating view of the city. Our server was great and overall the food was very solid. The cheeseboard to start was delicious and we enjoyed the local cheeses. My wife was disappointed that at 6pm there were already out of the entree she had hoped to order. We both ended up getting the sea bass and it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Dessert was good, but nothing special and probably would skip dessert here next time or just get a coffee. Overall we definitely enjoyed our experience and would recommend! ”
“ This wasn't just a restaurant, it was an experience. FYI, this is a reservation only restaurant, that books up weeks in advance. Make that reservation! Located in the Hyatt hotel (one of my faves), the hostess is at the elevator, confirming reservations and letting people up. She was extremely pleasant. Once upstairs, we were seated right away, very intimate setting. The view was great and the fact that you're slowly moving the entire time and you get to see different parts of the city while eating, super cool. There was a light show happening in the distance :) what a bonus. My partner and I ordered the, Polaris Steak Oscar (since 1967) sautéed crab, asparagus tips, whipped potato bone marrow bearnaise, demi-glace,maldon sea salt. One word, Delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. We also had the Parisian Gnocchi, charred georgia peaches, roasted tomatoes, burrata, torn basil. OMG GOOD, is what I would say. To drink I the the The Daunt-Less ( non- alcoholic) A simplicity lemonade, pineapple, basil, lemon, elderflower tonic polaris rooftop honey. Very crisp flavorful and refreshing. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and attentive, answered all our questions. 10/10 for all around food and service. The one thing I would point out, the carpet could use a good cleaning (or could be changed all together) ”
“ Exceptional in every way. I highly recommend Polaris. From the beginning we were greeted warmly by the hostess at the elevator. Our server Michael was had a sparkling personality & he was efficient. The ambience & food were exceptional! ”
“ "Atlanta's Iconic Rotating Restaurant" Came here for a nightcap, since it is NOT safe to walk around downtown Atlanta at night... So nice to have this at the Hyatt we are staying in. Too bad we discovered this on our last night... Quality/Quantity - They have a rooftop bee garden, so cool. Produces approximately 1000 lbs of honey every spring. So everything we ordered, we made sure included that honey. Smoked Honey O - Janessa asked how I would like it. She suggested sweet and I agreed especially since it is made with their bees honey in their garden on the roof! The Polaris Blue Dome - My wife wanted dessert, I suggested the signature dish. She liked it and I thought it was just okay. Overall small simple menu done well. Atmosphere - Again, "Atlanta's Iconic Rotating Restaurant" on the 22nd floor of the Hyatt. You take a glass elevator to the top. Nice to relax and people/city watch as the restaurant slowly rotates. Nice spacious restaurant. Small bar, seating approximately 8 people...? I really like the dining seating arrangements, almost private, semi private dining. See pictures. Adult focused, no kids menu, not kid friendly. Actually, I felt like a kid walking around in "circles" to take my Yelp pictures, LOL. No reservations needed for bar seating; first come, first serve. They also have lounge seating, I believe you need reservations. Open kitchen, see pictures. There is actually another kitchen one floor below, we got a chance to see when in the elevator. Clean modern bathrooms, but they are one flight of stairs above. Private event options, see website. Parking - See Hyatt Yelp review. Open 4 days a week, Wed to Sat from 5pm to 9pm, 10pm or 11pm (website & Yelp says open until 11pm or midnight). See picture. 2 hours complimentary valet parking. Service - Good. Janessa was very engaging to the people at the bar. Checked on us a few times, with water refill, etc. Price - $40 + generous tip. BTW, there was a 60¢ Liquor Tax. This is the first time I noticed this on our receipt. $50 wine corkage fee if you want to bring your own bottles. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1967. If I discovered you sooner, I would have drank here every night! ”
“ ***Disclaimer: My actual rating is 4/5. The only reason I am giving it a because of our server Antionette who was beyond amazing. *** After 4 months of advance booking, I finally had a chance to celebrate my first anniversary at the coveted OG revolving restaurant, Polaris (on the top floor of Hyatt Regency in Downtown Atlanta) Here is the summary of my experience and why am I giving it a 5-star even though I was not mesmerized by it. --- A couple of things first: --- This place is not open on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday so make sure you take that into account --- Make sure you make a reservation 2-3 months in advance because you will not get a reservation most likely even a month in advance as this place is always booked --- Now that you have reserved the place, please make sure that you do not reach here before 30 minutes of your reservation unless you want to pay for valet parking. The reason is that they do not let you upstairs 10 minutes before your reserved time and they validate your parking for 3 hours from the time you reach there. So unless you want to be in a rush, make sure you a just a little earlier than your reserved time. --- When I visited the place, there were NO chicken dishes. So if you are allergic to fish and do not eat beef, you will have to be content with limited vegetarian dish :( Now coming to my experience: -- Ambiance 4/5: Please hear me out. This place has an amazing decor and ambiance. There is a live chef that you can see working on your dishes. The reason I gave it a 4/5 rating is because I missed the USP of this place. The revolving restaurant has a slow movement and you truly do not witness it unless you are making a hyperlapse video. Plus this place is now surrounded by taller buildings so the view is kind of hidden and scattered which leaves you wanting for more. If this was just a regular restaurant, I would give it a 5 for decor but since it is a revolving rooftop and I kind of didn't find it that way hence giving it a 4/5 --- Service 6/5: Our server Antionette was beyond amazing. She made sure that we were comfortable, brought out helpful suggestions, and even took our pictures with ideas on the way we should pose. She even complemented us with a free dessert for our anniversary. Also, the chef gave us complimentary bread just because he did not like the presentation which was a pleasant surprise! She would be a major reason for us to be back :) --- Food 4/5: The food for me was a mixed bag and I definitely want to highlight the absence of chicken dishes from the menu. We started with the drinks: Drinks: a) Sober Mo - A hibiscus mocktail that was not my favorite as I am not a fan of hibiscus. Also, it was very sweet. b) The Dauntless: This is a pineapple-based mocktail that we both liked. Shareable plates: a) Bread is good cheddar + herb Sourdough: The bread was soft and fresh and the side of herb dip with fresh butter with sea salt went well with it (the butter tasted like ghee to me). In addition to this, the chef gave us complimentary bread just because he did not like the presentation which was a pleasant surprise! b) Pistachio-crusted GA quail breast: I liked it but since I was having quail for the first time, I could not fully enjoy it. My wife loved it and completely devoured it. Main Course: a) Roasted Bone-in Monkfish: My wife did not like it. It was spicy (listen to your server when they tell you this :) ). I was not a fan of the gravy either. So if you like monkfish and spicy food, try it on your own accord. We didn't even like the Japanese eggplant in it b) Lentil Falafel + Spiced Couscous: This one is only for the brave who loves couscous. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. I was relieved that the lentil falafel was great and we both finished it quickly. This one is recommended from my side. Dessert: a) The Polaris blue dome: Although I wanted to try the sweet potato cheesecake which was not available, we went for the famous dome. Make sure you have some space for this because we loved this. The dessert was delicious and instragrammable --- Value for money 5/5: Everyone knows when you come to a fine dining experience, the bill is not going to be light on the wallet but given the overall service and experience, we were happy with the overall value for money Overall, recommend: a) Amazing service of Antionette b) If you are a bread fan then sourdough c) If you are a quail fan, then the quail breast d) Falafel if you are vegetarian without the couscous e) Dome dessert f) The pineapple mocktail Not recommended: 1) for the revolving dome experience as it was disappointing 2) The hibiscus mocktail 3) Monkfish if you are trying it the first time ”
“ YOU GUYS. This is going to be a one of a kind review and a first for me. My husband and I went to The Polaris. This place gets a SIX OUT OF FIVE STARS which I have NEVER done. I have reviewed a lot of restaurants and this one, thus far, has literally taken the cake. This restaurant slowly spins at the top of the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA and if you want to impress your date, THIS is the place to go. We started with the charcuterie board which had the best variety of meats, cheeses, sauces and vegetables I've ever seen. I pointed out the honeycomb and find out they have THEIR OWN BEE HIVES (see photos). You can see where they have their apiary from the restaurant. We also got the Better than Cheddar bread plate to share. Very nice as well. Then we shared The Polaris Steak which came with amazing sides and we were stuffed. Now. Here's the best part. We were blessed to have Antoinette as our server. Antoinette provided us with everything we needed and more during our last night away from home. I laughed a lot and just had the best time thanks to Antoinette's unique and amazing personality. I love meeting new and beautiful people on our trips and Antoinette takes the cake so I am thankful. So, yes. This will be my first 6/5 star rating here on Yelp! I know it doesn't exist but this night does exist as 6 stars in my book because it was greater than great. ”
